Western media’s shameless terror defense
Some Western mainstream media covered the news, but most of them added quotation marks to the word “thugs.” The World Uyghur Congress (WUC), headquartered in Munich, defended the attackers, claiming they resorted to radical means because there was no way for people to show peaceful dissent. Such shameless remarks were quoted by Western media.
Haunted by terrorism in Europe, the EU is hanging in the balance while being suffocated. However, some Western people still stubbornly stick to the double standards on terrorism and extremism. As long as violent terrorism occurs in China and they don’t feel the pain, they are interested in “what pushed those people to that terrible path” and refuse to join Chinese society in condemning violent terrorist attackers.
All violent attackers, especially suicide attackers, have their own self-claimed tragic but solemn reasons. From their perspective, all terror attacks are just or epic revenge.
But they are villainous. Whatever their reasons are, launching violent assaults on ordinary people go beyond the boundary between justice and evil.
Some Western people hold wrong views over good and evil. Self-interest has become their standard of judgment. They have hence turned into the animator, comforter and even accessory of violent assailants.
The WUC has not denounced the killers in Pishan county. It merely justified their act. If Western media has the correct stance over such a violent event in China, how dare they express sympathy to the attackers?
If an organization from Europe defends every terror attack in European countries, claiming the assailants are forced to revolt, asking EU nations to review their unfair treatment toward the attackers, can such a group be regarded legitimate in the continent?
When the terror slaughter happened in France, the Oriental Pearl tower in Shanghai, China was lit up in blue, white, and red, the colors of the French flag. Yet after thugs engaged in bloody crimes in China’s Xinjiang, Western media quoted the WUC as defending the criminals. Western media, do you have a conscience?
