Veon’s Banglalink plans mega investment in Bangladesh, acquire more spectrum
DHAKA, Feb. 13 (NsNewsWire) — Banglalink, one of the leading digital communications service providers in Bangladesh, is going to invest over BDT 3000 crore, one of the biggest investments made by any telecom operator in the country, for acquiring additional 5 MHz spectrum in 2100 MHz Band and 5.6 MHz spectrum in 1800 MHz Band.

Besides these, Banglalink has also applied for tech neutrality which will allow it to provide 2G, 3G or 4G services in any band.
“We are extremely delighted to acquire the additional spectrum.” said Erik Aas, CEO, Banglalink in a press statement today. He also mentioned, “Spectrum plays a key role in providing quality services to customers. With the acquisition of the additional spectrum, we will provide customers with seamless digital connectivity and better coverage enhancing their user experience.”
- Banglalink already holds 20 MHz of spectrum in three different bands. After the acquisition of the additional spectrum, it will have 30.6 MHz spectrum in total.
