US Deputy Asst Secy Ichord to visit Bangladesh from May 7

DHAKA, May 7 (NsNewsWire) — U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Robert F. Ichord will visit Bangladesh from May 7 to May 10, 2014.
Robert F. Ichord serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Energy Resources.
He is responsible for promoting the transformation of energy systems to achieve greater efficiency and cleaner performance through use of market forces and innovative financing approaches.
During his visit to Bangladesh, he will hold meetings and discussions with Government of Bangladesh officials in the energy sector, said a statement of the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday.
During the meetings, he will discuss ways for ensuring energy access by all by 2030, doubling the rate of energy efficiency, and also doubling the share of renewable energy in the total energy generation.
