US, BANGLADESH SIGN COUNTERNARCOTICS MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION
DHAKA, DECEMBER 3 — Today, the United States and Government of Bangladesh signed the Memorandum of Cooperation for Mutual Cooperation in the Sphere of Drug Control between the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Bangladesh. This Memorandum of Cooperation is intended to strengthen and increase cooperation aimed at combating organized criminal groups with national, regional, and international connections; illicit drug and precursor chemical trafficking and the prevention of drug smuggling across international borders. Regional Attaché Michael Brown represented the Drug Enforcement Administration and Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary (Political), signed on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs. U.S. Ambassador Dan Mozena and Senior Secretary C. Q. K. Mustaq Ahmed presided over the ceremony.
