Sri Lanka beats Bangladesh to clinch T20 series 2-0
DHAKA, Feb. 19 (NsNewsWire) — Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 75 runs in the second and final Twenty20 cricket international to clinch the series 2-nil at a stadium in northeastern Sylhet city on Sunday night, reports Xinhua.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first in the T20 international against the visitors.
Sri Lankan cricket team set a target of 211 runs in their allocated 20 overs losing four wickets.
Riding on 70 runs from BKG Mendis, the visitors set the fighting target in which MD Gunathilaka contributed 42 runs.
DSK Madushanka and MD Gunathilaka grabbed two wickets each to steer their side to victory over Bangladesh.
Bangladesh were all out for 135 runs in 18.4 overs chasing the target of 210 runs.
Bangladesh Mahmudullah scored highest 41 runs.
