Seminar on ‘Konnectin Achieving 21stCentury Skills’
DHAKA, Sept. 3 (NsNewsWire) — a2i Programme and BishwoShahittoKendro co-hosted a seminartitled “Kishore Batayan (Konnect) in Achieving 21st Century Skills” on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in the presence of students and teachers from different schools and colleges of Dhaka. With the support of ICT Division, UNDP and USAID, a2i programme is working to realizethe Digital Bangladesh agendathrough quality co-curricular programs alongside the educational development initiatives. The renowned writer and educationist Professor Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal were present as the guests of honor in the seminar.
Konnect is a medium to make the student ready and skilled for 21stcentury. It is equipped with suitable books, movies, comics, puzzles, practical science experiments and various interesting sections like news for the teens. Students from all over the country are participating in different competitions like District Branding program ‘My District, My Pride’ competition;book-reading program ‘BoierPatayProdipJole, BoierPataSwopno Bole’ during the month of language (February) in collaboration with the BishwoShahittoKendro; and digital content competition titled ‘KoishoreBangabandhu, Amar Koishore, Amar Shadhinota’ using Konnect. a2i Programme and BishwoShahittoKendro awarded around 5000 students participating in these competitions with books and science-kits. Konnect is going to be a national platform for students for communication among themselves. It will open a new world of creative thinking for them. Students will find a virtual learning world in which they can get learn with joy while making productive use of their time.
The Honorable Prime Minister launched the Kishore Batayan (www.konnect.edu.bd) as a platform for healthy entertainment and intellectual development of the teens in the Amar Ekushey Book Fair on 1stFebruary, 2018. Konnect will be modern, innovative, practical, practice-oriented,in line with the 21st century demand and timely in development of youth skills. It will efficiently develop both personal skills (healthy diet, healthy living, leadership, social interaction, etc.) and social skills (understanding on gender concepts, environment and life, etc.).
