Samsung tops Bangladeshi smartphone market: reports BMPIA
DHAKA, March 21 (NsNewsWire) — The competition among smartphone brands is rising higher. A recent report by Bangladesh Mobile Phone Importers Association (BMPIA) reveals that Samsung is on top of the list of highest selling smartphones in Bangladesh. According to the report, 34.4 million units of mobile phones have been brought into the country in 2017.
As per the BMPIA Report, South Korean mobile giant Samsung became the top seller in terms of value, whereas Symphony became the top importer in terms of volume. Having 26 percent of the import value in 2017 and 14 percent in terms of volume, Samsung still has a strong hold on the mobile phone market. The third position in terms of value and volume belonged to Huawei having 13 percent value and other rising brands like Xiaomi and Nokia took 4th and 5th places having 4 percent and 3 percent value.
30 percent rise in smartphone import has been seen in 2017 than the previous year, where 20 brands came with newer models of smartphones; reports BMPIA. With the advent of 4G services, the number of smartphones is expected to be increased in 2018.
