Samsung Handover State of the Art Lab to Dhaka Mohila Polytechnic Institute under

DHAKA, Sept. 24 (NsNewsWire) — Samsung Electronics Bangladesh handed over a state of the art laboratory under its
“ARISE” program to the Dhaka Mohila Polytechnic Institute in a ceremony at its own premises in Agargaon. The
ARISE (Advanced Repair and Industrial Skill Enhancement) is a six month long training program for the final year
students, to develop basic technical skills and personality development. Samsung provided this training free-of-
cost and also renovated the laboratory with the training material.
Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Education, Govt. of the People’s Republic of
Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest and Mr. MD. Alamgir, Secretary, Technical and Madrasah Education
Division, Ministry of Education was present at the event as special guest. Mr. Ashok Kumar Bishwas, Director
General of Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Mr. Seungwon Youn, Managing Director, Samsung Electronics
Bangladesh and other senior officials were present at the event.
Mr. Seungwon Youn, Managing Director, Samsung Electronics Bangladesh said, “After tremendous success in 2015,
we came up with ARISE project once again this year at Dhaka Mohila Polytechnic Institute for the final and third
year students. We believe women in Bangladesh play an equally important role in the developing sectors of this
country. Expanding technical skills will give them more opportunities to work in technical sectors. Samsung is at the
forefront in technological innovation and with the successful implementation of this project, we will be able to pass
on our technical expertise to enrich the skilled workforce of this country.”
After the initial success of “ARISE” program at the Dhaka Polytechnic Institute Samsung Electronics Bangladesh, as
a part of their Creating Shared Value (CSV) initiative, has established yet another lab and a classroom with all
modern and advanced repair equipment and organized skills enhancement training for the final year students of
Dhaka Mohila Polytechnic Institute. After the six month training course, students will be provided with internship
opportunities at Samsung’s service centers for one month. The objective of this program is to create a skilled talent
pool of manpower for Bangladesh service industry. Through this program, Samsung strives towards bridging the
skills gap between the industry requirements and what the academia produces. Initially, 75 students got enrolled
in the diploma program, out of whom, 72 passed and received the certificates. Majority graduates have already
been employed, out of whom some of them are working at Samsung’s service centers.
