Panic as Bangladesh feel two consecutive tremors after fresh Nepal earthquake
DHAKA, April 26 (NsNewsWire) — Two consecutive light tremors on Sunday afternoon again sparked widespread panic across Bangladesh with scores of people reported injured in stampedes while trying to escape from their residences and offices.
The first tremor shook different parts of the country at about 1:12 p.m. local time for about 1 minute shortly after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal.
The second tremor struck at about 1:26 p.m. local time and continued for about 20 seconds.
Saturday’s strong earthquake in Nepal, measuring 7. 9 magnitude on the Richter scale, also shook Bangladesh, leaving at least four people dead and hundreds of others injured.
