Read Moreসরকার কর্তৃক গ্রামীণ ব্যাংকের আইনে পরিবর্তন আনাকে আমি আমার তীব্রতম ভাষায় নিন্দা জানাচ্ছি। গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক সৃষ্টি করাহয়েছিল গরীব মহিলাদের মালিকানায় এবং তাঁদের ব্যবস্থাপনায় একটা স্বশাসিত প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে। এই আইনে গ্রামীণ ব্যাংকেসরকারের হস্তক্ষেপের কোন সুযোগ রাখা হয়নি। এই কারণেই গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক জাতিকে আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মানের সুউচ্চ শিখরে নিয়ে যেতেপেরেছিল। এখন সরকার এই আইন পরিবর্তন করে তাতে এমন সব সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করে দিয়েছে যাতে সরকার এই ব্যাংককে একশতভাগনিজস্ব নিয়ন্ত্রণে নিয়ে নিতে পারে। আইনের এই সংশোধনের ফলে গ্রামীণ ব্যাংকের চরিত্রে একটা মৌলিক পরিবর্তন নিয়ে আসা হলো।এর মাধ্যমে গ্রামীণ ব্যাংকের ধবংস অবধারিত হলো। আমি অত্যন্ত দুঃখিত যে কিছু অপরিনামদর্শী মানুষের বিবেচনাহীতার কারণে জাতির একটা পরম গৌরবের প্রতিষ্ঠানকে এই পরিণতিরদিকে ঠেলে দেয়ার মর্মান্তিক ঘটনাটি জাতিকে প্রত্যক্ষ করতে হলো। জাতি হিসেবে এখন আমাদের দৃঢ় সংকল্প নিতে হবে যাতে গ্রামীণ ব্যাংকের কোন অনিষ্ট হবার আগেই দ্রততম সময়ে আমরা এই আইনেরপরিবর্তনগুলি বর্জন করে ফেলতে পারি। দেশের সকল মানুষ, গ্রামীণ ব্যাংকের সকল ঋণগ্রহীতা-মালিক, তাদের পরিবারের সদস্যবর্গ,ব্যাংকের সকল কর্মচারী-কর্মকর্তা এলক্ষ্যে একযোগে এগিয়ে আসবেন – এই কামনা করছি। Source: Yunus Center Press Release
