Novartis Names Dr. Riad as new Managing Director and Country President

DHAKA, Aug. 5 (NsNewsWire) — Dr. Riad Mamun Prodhani has recently been appointed as the Managing Director and Country President of Novartis (Bangladesh) Limited, the leading multinational pharmaceuticals of the country. With his new role, he also joins the Board of Directors of Novartis Bangladesh. Dr. Riad replaces Mr. Sheikh Nahar Mahmud who decided to retire earlier this year.

Dr. Riad brings more than 19 years of Sales, Marketing and General Management experience in the pharmaceutical industry home and abroad. Riad joined Novartis (Bangladesh) Limited in May 2017, serving most recently as the Country Head, Pharmaceuticals Division. Prior to Joining Novartis in 2017, he was the Managing Director, Country Chair and General Manager of Sanofi in Bangladesh and member of board of directors of Sanofi.

Dr. Riad graduated from Sir Salimullah Medical College and holds an MBA from IBA, Dhaka University. He also obtained two postgraduate degrees in Health Economics from the Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka.

Riad was an Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceuticals Industries (BAPI). He is also a member of BMDC (Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council), IBA Alumni Association and Old Remains Welfare Association. press release
