Malaysia finds mass graves of suspected trafficking victims in abandoned camps
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – The Malaysian home minister says police have discovered mass graves of suspected trafficking victims near the country’s border with Thailand.
Home Minister Zahid Hamidi says the graves were located in 17 human trafficking camps that had been abandoned.
It isn’t clear how many bodies have been recovered, reports Fox News
Similar camps and dozens of remains were recovered in jungle camps across the border in Thailand earlier this month, where Rohingya Muslims fleeing persecution in Myanmar had been held by traffickers and held until their families could pay for their freedom.
