Australia’s first and only female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup, Michelle Payne, carried the Queen’s Baton along the water’s edge, showcasing the City’s stunning natural beauty.

“Today’s experience was really fun. To be out here with the other batonbearers and hearing their stories about why they were nominated was special.”

A moment of sibling love was shared when Talon Cass-Dunbar, 12, handed the Queen’s Baton to brother Shea, 15. Nominated for the way in which they contribute to an inclusive community, with Talon supporting his brother Shea, who has Cerebral Palsy and other disabilities, achieve remarkable goals such as climbing the Statue of Liberty and trekking to the summit of Mt Kosciusko. Today was another milestone for the brothers as part of the longest Relay in history.
