Low yield of Bhutan orange has become a major concern
SILIGURI: Low yield of orange in Bhutan has become a major concern for men associated to its cross border trade. While Indian market is thriving for Bhutan orange, export of the fruit to Bangladesh is also under crisis.
While improper management or lack of modernizations in orchard are considered as factors responsible behind low yield, scanty rainfall is also being held responsible behind the downfall, estimated to be in the tune of around 75% over last year.
