Leathertech fair to kick off in Dhaka on Thursday
DHAKA, Nov. 13 (NsNewsWire) — A three-day international leathertech exhibition will begin in Dhaka from November 16 aiming at bringing global technology to the doorsteps of the local industry to help it grow and modernize.
ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd is the organizer of the tradeshow titled ‘LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2017’, fifth of its kind, at the International Convention City, Bashundara.
Nearly 250 exhibitors from 15 countries, including India and China will be participating in the event to be ended on November 18. Tanning leather, manufacturing footwear and leathergoods machinery along with other components like dyes & chemicals, accessories and allied products will be displayed in the show to benefit all industrial sectors in Bangladesh.
Mr. Tofail Ahmed, Honorable Commerce Minister, will inaugurate the event with industrial leaders and government high officials attending.
In a press conference today (November 12, 2017 in a city hotel, Nanda Gopal K, Director ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, said the international leathertech fair is very important for developing of our industry of all sectors.
“Honorable Prime Minister has rightly declared “Leather as Product of the year” in 2017 indicating the priority given by the government to the second largest export earning sector. The leather industry is eyeing for a $5 billion export by 2021.”
To achieve the export challenge, Mr. Nanda Gopal K said, “LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2017 will help the sector modernize and grow by showcasing wide variety of technology, solutions and products offered by all over the world.”
The event has become a not-to-be-missed networking platform for the leather sector in Bangladesh to source machinery, components, accessories, dyes & chemicals and support services with larger participation from 15 countries and showcasing of latest innovations from technology leaders from all parts of the globe, he added.
Md. Saiful Islam, President of Leathergoods & Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) as a Guest of Honor in the press conference said the government has a target of 60 billion dollar income from exporting different sectors where 5 billion will be coming from leather and its related products. In terms of economic value, this sector has valuable contribution.
Putting his reflections on the role of ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd in promoting this sector, he added that ‘ 5 years ago they started this Bangladesh Leathertech it had low visibility. But within five years it has extended his volume and significance as 250 exhibitors from 15 countries are ready to show case their
technologies and other relevant aspects in the 5th edition of LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2017. I believe this is a big achievement for us.’
