Largest Bangladesh news site blocked
DHAKA, June 18(NsNewsWire) — Largest Bangladesh news site bdnews24.com has been blocked.
In a sudden, but unexplained move, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Monday directed all International Internet Gateway (IIG) and mobile phone operators to block bdnews24.com.
A news in this regard was published on the website of bdnews.24.com on Monday evening.
The website of bdnews24.com is currently inaccessible.
BTRC did not specify any cause behind it’s sudden decision to block the news site.
“As decided by the Commission, you are directed to block the following Domains at your IG immediately https://www.bdnews24.com/,https://m.bdnews24.com/,” BTRC said in a notice to the IIG and phone operators which bdnews24.com published in its report Monday.
A BTRC spokesman was not immediately available for comment.
