International Day of Yoga 2018
DHAKA, June 12 (NsNewsWire) — Several celebrities of Bangladesh joined the High Commission of India at the Curtain Raiser of the International Day of Yoga 2018 on 12 June, 2018.
2. It would be recalled that the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Yoga Day on 11 December 2014. The resolution establishing the International Day of Yoga was proposed by India and co-sponsored by a record 175 member states. A total of 175 nations co-sponsored the resolution, the highest number for any UN resolution.
3. The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated on a large scale in Bangladesh. In 2017, there was a record turnout of around 5000 yoga enthusiasts at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka.
4. This year, the High Commission of India will organize an event to commemorate the International Day of Yoga on Thursday, 21 June 2018, from 0700 hrs – 0800 hrsat the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. The programme will include yoga demonstrations, a mass yoga session and a Lucky Draw.
5. Entry to the event is free. All participants will receive, on first-cum-first-served basis, free yoga mats, t-shirts and gift hampers and a chance to win attractive prizes in a Lucky Draw. Prizes in the Lucky Draw include – a Tata Tiago car, a Bajaj Motorcycle, a Holiday Package to a destination in India, a Trip to Delhi for a couple and a Hospitality package for a couple in a five star hotel in Dhaka.
