Grand Launching Of UCash – Mobile Financial Service of United Commercial Bank Limited

DHAKA, Nov. 23 (UCB Press Release) — The grand launching of United Commercial Bank Limited’s (UCB) exclusive mobile financial service UCash was held at the Grand Ballroom of Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka on 23 November 2013.

This initiative of mobile financial service is an innovative approach of UCB to spread banking service and facilities to the vast majority of unbanked population of the country. Honourable Chairman of UCB Mr. M. A. Hashem inaugurated the grand launching of UCash as Chief Guest.

Among others honourable Vice-Chairman of UCB Mr. Sharif Zahir, honourable Chairman of Executive Committee of UCB Mr. Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, MP, honourable Chairman of Audit Committee Lt. Gen (Retd.) A.T.M Zahirul Alam, rcds, psc, honourable Director Mr. M. A. Sabur, honourable Director Mr. Md. Jahangir Alam Khan, honourable Director Mr. Md. Tanvir Khan, honourable Managing Director Mr. Muhammed Ali along with senior management of UCB, associate stakeholders, UCash distributors all over the country, journalists and many others were present at the event.

To ensure smooth, prompt and uninterrupted service across the country, Ucash has already appointed over 10,000 agents. Initially the service of UCash will be available through ROBI & Airtel. It will be accessible through all the mobile networks very soon. UCash is currently providing mobile financial service facilities like money transfer, purchasing and money deposit. But one special feature that UCash is coming up with for the first time is interest on deposit. People will get interest on the money deposited by UCash service from the very first day.
