Grameen Shakti signs MoU with SureCash
DHAKA, Jan. 17 (NsNewsWire) — Grameen Shakti (GS) has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SureCash.
Under this MoU, 1.6 million GS customers living across the remote areas will use mobile-phone based SureCash automated payment platform to pay their installments for its Solar Home Systems.
Managing Director Nurjahan Begum, Chief Operating Officer Sohel Ahmed, Chief Financial Officer Abdus Sattar of Grameen Shakti and Chief Executive Officer Shahadat Khan, Chief Business Officer Md. Abu Taleb and Vice President Md. Faruk Hosen of SureCash, among others, were present in the MoU signing ceremony.
Nurjahan Begum said, “Through this service our customers will get individual mobile banking accounts to pay their installments from their home at any time. They can now pay their monthly installments in multiple small parts depending on cash availability, and can also view their account statements from their own phones.”
SureCash is a complete mobile banking and payment platform, currently operating in agreement with 6 banks in Bangladesh. Using this platform, a customer can send money all over the country, can make various payments such as education fees, utility bills, and online purchases, recharge mobile balance and receive personal remittance using own phone. Customers may open mobile banking account or deposit/withdraw cash at any of the 35,000 SureCash retail agents distributed around the country.
