England’s Steve Rhodes appointed Bangladesh’s head cricket coach
DHAKA, June 9 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named England’s Steve Rhodes as the new head coach of the national men’s team, reports Xinhua.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan made the announcement on Thursday at a press briefing in Dhaka.
Rhodes had been the red hot favourite for the role after the post of the Bangladesh national team’s head coach had been vacant for the last seven months since the resignation of Chandika Hathurusingha in October last year.
He has been given a two-year term with immediate effect to make him available for the upcoming series against the West Indies later this month.
English cricket coach and a former English cricketer, Rhodes, who played 11 Tests and nine ODIs, is well known for his talent-spotting skills. Enditem
