edotco Bangladesh Contributes over BDT 14 Million to Workers’ Welfare Fund
edotco Bangladesh (“edotco BD”), an integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company in Bangladesh, has made a contribution of over Fourteen Million in the workers’ welfare fund.
High officials of edotco Bangladesh Management, Manzoorul Islam, Director Operations & Engineering Rizwan Hamid Quraishi, Director, Human Resources visited the minister’s office and handed over the cheque to Begum Monnujan Sufian, State Minister for Labour and Employment Ministry. The amount donated is a portion of edotco’s annual profit sum.
Md. Mohidur Rahman, private Secretary to Honorable State Minister, K M Ali Azam Secretary, AMM Anisul Awal, Director General of Bangladesh Workers Welfare Foundation and higher officials of edotco Bangladesh Management were also present in the event.
Bangladesh Government has created the fund for workers, where companies deposit one tenth of their annual net profit, in line with the labour law. So far, more than 126 local, foreign and multinational companies have chipped in to create the fund. The fund is being directed towards financial aid and benefit of workers engaged with the professional and non-professional sectors of the country.
