DIGITAL INVESTMENT SUMMIT TO BE HELD IN DHAKA ON 7 MAY
DHAKA, May 5 (NsNewsWire) — A day-long investment summit titled “Digital Investment Summit” will be held in Dhaka on May 7, 2015 at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel.
The Summit is being organized by Telenor Group, Accenture and BASIS, in collaboration of ICT Division, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications & Information Technology. Mr. Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed, ICT Affairs Adviser to the Honorable Prime Minister, will inaugurate the summit as Chief Guest. Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Minister, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications & Information Technology will be the Special Guest at the summit.
This was disclosed in a press conference today in the presence of Mr. Hans Henrichsen, Chief Representative Officer, Telenor Group Bangladesh; Mr. Raihan Shamsi, Managing Director, Accenture Communications Infrastructure Bangladesh; and Mr. Russell T. Ahmed, Senior Vice President, BASIS.
Mr. Jon Fredrick Baksaas, President & CEO, Telenor Group; Mr. Zou Zhilei, President, Carrier Network, Huawei; and senior officials from Accenture, and Google will also participate in the summit. The summit will discuss the prospects of foreign investment in the ICT industry and ways to attract them and build Bangladesh as an ICT Destination.
Speakers at the press conference added that Bangladesh has made good headway towards digitalization through the mobile telecommunication network, which has become the mainstay to providing access to Internet for the masses. The full benefit of an “Internet for All” ambition requires an ecosystem that contains meaningful content and services that are relevant for all. International investors can make valuable contributors in this journey towards digital Bangladesh.
