Dhaka to hold int’l flower fair
DHAKA, Dec. 5 (NsNewsWire) — Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), the country’s largest trade promotion organization, will organize an international flower fair on Dec. 6-8, according to a press conference Tuesday. The annual flower market in Bangladesh currently stands for some 150 million U.S. dollars, having a potential capacity to grow more with greater end-market demand and availability of the improved farming system. At the press conference in Dhaka, DCCI President Abul Kasem Khan said the three-day fair is aimed at creating a platform for the growers and potential investors to build connections with the actors in the large Asian market. In addition to several floral displays, he said there would be thematic seminars for growers and investors to exchange the latest information on new variety and cultivation techniques and technologies from the exhibitors participating from India, Nepal, Thailand and Bangladesh. Moreover, the event will showcase art competition for the children, photography competition, musical fusion, schooling on rooftop gardening, flower rally, 3D Mapping, Folk Music and Puppet show.
