Danish Envoy Calls on State-Minister for Foreign Affairs

DHAKA, Jan. 28 (NsNewsWire) — Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mrs Hanne Fugl Eskjaer made a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam MP at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.

The Ambassador congratulated the State Minister for his new responsibilities. During the meeting they also discussed various aspects of the bilateral relations. The State Minister appreciated the role of DANIDA’s cooperation in Bangladesh’s development and mentioned the support for in the Saidabad Water treatment plant. The Ambassador informed that Denmark is contemplating assisting the Saidabad Three plant and improvement of water supply infrastructure in Dhaka urban area.

The Envoy further apprised that Denmark is also providing free service for CSR assessment to RMG factories including mobile water treatment unit so that Danish importers could import product from these factories.

The State Minister requested the Ambassador to encourage technology transfer and investment in wind power energy sector and assured all assistance from the government if Danish companies are forthcoming. The State Minister also requested Danish support for the training of sailors and crews for deep sea fishing.
