Cyclone Mora shows signs of weakening: 6 dead
Dhaka, May 30 (NsNewsWire) — At least six people died in three districts after the cyclone hit the Bangladesh coast early Tuesday.
The cyclone crossed the coast of Chittagong, showing signs of weakening with reduced wind speed and rainfall, according to Met office.
Met office says, the bad weather will persist on Tuesday and there will be improvement on Wednesday.
The cyclone made landfall around 6am on Tuesday in Kutubdia, an offshore island of Cox’s Bazar with wind speeds of over 100km per hour.
Four persons died in Cox’s Bazar and Rangamati districts while a child in Bhola district.
The Met office has lowered its storm alerts to local cautionary signal No. 3 for maritime ports in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra.
