Bangladesh’s Islamist party leader Ghulam Azam dies
DHAKA, Oct. 24 (NsNewsWire) — Convicted Bangladesh Islamist party leader Ghulam Azam has died in prison, said Abdul Mazid Bhuiyan, director of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Thursday night.
He told journalists that 92-year-old Azam died at around 10:10 p.m. local time Thursday.
Azam, former chief of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami party,was sentenced to 90 years in prison for war crimes including mass killings in July last year.
