DHAKA, June 17 (NsNewsWire) — There is a thin line between being funny and disgustingly offensive. Obviously, there is no yardstick or parameter to judge what is funny for one can totally disappoint other, reports http://www.india.com
Take for instance this controversial local Bangladesh Cola television commercial (TVC), which is taking potshot at the Indian Cricket Team who are in Bangladesh for their away series comprising of lone Test match and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). According to the ad-makers, this ‘Bamboo is On’ ad is apparently a befitting reply to the famous Star Sports Mauka Mauka ad shown during ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
The commercial starts with an Indian Bengali guy striking a conversation with a guy from Pakistan. The Bengali fellow is making mockery of Pakistan’s recent 3-0 loss at the hands of Bangladesh. He continues to poke fun at the thrashing received by Pakistan on their tour to Bangladesh till the Pakistani guy gets offended and hands him a bamboo stick and wait for India’s humiliating turn.
Ever since Mauka Mauka ad telecast, it became a talking point for its light-hearted humour. But it had its repercussions with such local brands coming with controversial and poor in taste comic advertisements. Nevertheless, watch the advertisement.
