“Q: The Election Commission of Bangladesh announced on the evening of November 25 that the next round of general election will be held on January 5, 2014. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party, the biggest opposition party there, voiced strong protest. What is China’s comment on the situation in Bangladesh?

A: We have noted the aforementioned situation. As a friendly neighbor of Bangladesh, China sincerely hopes that all relevant parties in Bangladesh would set store by overall interests, solve differences through dialogue, make efforts to ensure the success of the election and work together to achieve political and social stability and economic development.”
