DHAKA, Aug.  9 (NsNewsWire) — A 15-member executive committee of Greater Dhaka Journalists’ Forum for 2016-17 has been formed with Abul Kalam Azad, managing director and chief editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS),  as its president and Shahin Chowdhury, editor of abnews24bd.com, as general secretary.

The committee was formed Monday at the forum’s biennial general meeting and get-together at the National Press Club in which Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Member of the Parliament Advocate Sanjida Khanam, among others, were present.

Other office-bearers of the committee are Kartik Chatarjee of Sangbad and Syed Mesbah Uddin of Din Paribartan — vice-presidents, Md. Momin Hossain (Amar Desh) — joint-secretary, Ataur Rahman (BSS) — treasurer,  Shamsuddin Ahmed Charu of Ittefaq — welfare secretary, Nazrul Kabir of Independent Television — office secretary,  and  Nasrin Giti  of Banglavision — publication and cultural secretary.

The executive committee members are Rafiqur Rahman of Reuters, Swapan Das Gupta of Dainik Bartaman, Farida Yesmin of Ittefaq, Hasan Hafiz of Amar Desh, Mahbub Alam of Bhorer Dak and Monir Hossain Liton of 71 Television.
