Bangladesh’s mobile operators add 13.37 mln new subscribers in 2015
DHAKA, Jan. 20 (NsNewsWire) — The total number of Bangladesh’s mobile phone subscribers reached nearly 134 million at the end of December 2015 with addition of 13.37 million new users in the immediate past year, statistics of the country’s telecom regulator showed Tuesday, reports Xinhua.
With over half a million new addition in December last year, according to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission ( BTRC) data, the number of subscribers in the country reached 133. 720 million.
The total number of mobile phone subscribers has reached 133. 163 million at the end of November 2015.
The number of subscribers of the mobile operators — Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi Axiata, Citycell, Teletalk and Airtel — at the end of 2015 stood at 56.679 million, 32.865 million, 28.317 million, 10.710 million, 1.007 million and 4.143 million respectively, the BTRC data showed.
Bangladesh’s cell phone companies sold nearly 7 million new connections in 2014, raising the country’s total subscribers to 120.35 million by the end of December. Enditem
