Bangladesh’s March inflation rises slightly
DHAKA, April 10 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladesh’s overall inflation slightly rose in March at 5.5 percent compared to the previous month, reports Xinhua.
The country’s average inflation rate in the previous month was 5.47 percent on a point-to-point basis. Bangladeshi Planning Minister MA Mannan released the August inflation data Tuesday prepared by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS). The BBS data showed the country’s food inflation in March slightly increased to 5.72 percent from 5.44 percent in February. For the non-food items, the inflation rate, however, dereased to 5.29 percent in March from 5.51 percent in February 2019. The average inflation rate in Bangladesh during the 12 months of the last 2017-18 fiscal year (July 2017-June 2018) slightly rose to 5.78 percent. The Bangladeshi government aims to keep average inflation limited to 5.6 percent in the current fiscal year 2018-19 ending in June. Enditem
