Bangladesh’s largest int’l engine show kicks off in capital Dhaka
DHAKA, March 14 (Xinhua) — Bangladesh’s biggest international automotive exhibition kicked off in capital Dhaka on Thursday.
Organizers said the show stands as one of the major flagship events of its kind in Bangladesh and has become an icon of the country as the one and only international automotive exhibition in the country.
They said the show emphasizes on automobiles and automotive parts related business sector.
According to the official, renowned and leading car and motorcycle distributors, dealers, automotive component manufacturers and importers from Bangladesh and abroad have been showcasing their products in hundreds of booths.
Bangladeshi Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Thursday morning formally inaugurated the event, which will be held on March 14-16.
Featured showcases and experiences at this year’s DhakaMotor Show include vehicles like cars, sports utility vehicles, multi utility vehicles, commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, three wheelers and alternative energy driven vehicles.
Shamsul Bashar, director of Rasell Industries Limited which imports Chinese Lifan brand motorcycle, said they are selling different Lifan brands in Bangladesh since 2004.
“We are currently marketing only Lifan brand motorcycles. Our Lifan brand’s demand is very good. It’s better than other brands in Bangladesh. Lifan is well known in Bangladesh as a very good brand,” said Shamsul Bashar.
SM Jasim Uddin Swapan, general manager of Motor Vehicle Division of Energpac Power Generation Ltd, said with growing Bangladesh’s economic development, the demand for big cars is also increasing in the country.
“So we signed a sole distributorship agreement with leading Chinese car brand SHACMAN.”
He expressed the hope that they will get good response in the market. Enditem
