Bangladesh’s forex reserves slide to about 31 bln USD in November
DHAKA, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) — Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves reached about 31 billion U.S. dollars by the end of November, central bank data showed on Monday. Bangladesh Bank (BB) data showed the country’s foreign exchange reserves stood at 30,990.12 million dollars in November from 32,077.96 million dollars in October. With the existing reserves, officials said Bangladesh is still in a position to pay over seven months’ import bills. Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves crossed the 33-billion-U.S. dollar mark in June 2017 amid a boom in the inflow of remittances ahead of one of the biggest Muslim religious festivals Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the Islamic holy fasting month of Ramadan.
