Bangladesh’s Christian community celebrates Christmas
DHAKA, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) — The Christian community in Bangladesh Tuesday celebrated Christmas Day, or Baro Din (Big Day) called in Bangla.
In capital Dhaka on Tuesday morning, Christians offered special prayers in churches decorated with colorful tiny blinking lights.
A festive mood prevailed all around with the Christmas trees, chocolate house and fairy lights everywhere when Santa Clause distributed sweets and gifts to children in churches, parks and hotels.
Illuminated Christmas trees, a worldwide symbol for peace and good cheer, have also been placed with a star standing right on top churches, homes and hotels.
The day is a national holiday in Bangladesh. Enditem
