Bangladeshi ex-PM demands army deployment during national polls

DHAKA, Nov. 13 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladeshi ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has demanded army deployment in the country’s next general polls slated for early 2019, reports Xinhua.
Khaleda, also chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), made the demand while addressing a grand rally in capital Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan (garden) Sunday, her first public address in one and a half years.
Khaleda Zia said army deployment with magistracy power is needed to ensure the impartiality and transparency of the 11th parliament polls.
“Upcoming polls must be held under a neutral government and army will have to be deployed with magistracy power,” said Khaleda Zia.
Tens of thousands of BNP supporters attended the rally that ended peacefully.  Enditem
