Bangladeshi elite force arrests casino boss
Bangladesh’s anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) early on Sunday arrested Ismail Hossain Samrat, the alleged kingpins of casino business in the country, reports Xinhua.
Bangladeshi Home Minister Assaduzzaman Khan made the announcement saying Samrat was apprehended along with his associate Enamul Hoque Arman in Cumilla district, 96 km east of capital Dhaka, in the early hours of Sunday.
Samrat, the president of Jubo League (the youth front of ruling Bangladesh Awami League party) reportedly went underground following the ongoing crackdown against casino business in Dhaka.
In line with the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed said that the ongoing drive against illegal casinos, bars and spa centers will continue. Enditem
