Bangladesh test fires Oerlikon Rudder Controlled gun
The test firing of Oerlikon Rudder Control gun (anti-aircraft gun) was held Sunday at Bangladesh’s Nidania AD Firing Range in Cox’s Bazar district, some 292 km southeast of capital Dhaka, reports Xinhua. The firing was conducted under the arrangement of Adhoc 48 Air Defence Artillery Regiment, national news agency reports, citing a press release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Bangladesh Army. Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed witnessed the firing as the chief guest while high military officials were present. General Aziz expressed his satisfaction at inclusion of the anti-aircraft gun like Oerlikon Rudder Control gun in Bangladesh Army’s list of weapon. This modern technology-based weapon will strengthen the Bangladesh Army’s air defense system and enhanced its capability to a great extent specially in providing air defense protection, said the ISPR statement.
