Bangladesh earns over 24 bln USD from exports in first 8 months of FY 2017/18 on RMG
DHAKA, March 18 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladesh’s total exports in the first eight months of the current 2017-18 fiscal year (July 2017-June 2018) reached over 24 billion U.S. dollars, up about 8 percent from the same period a year ago, official data showed Friday, reports Xinhua.
According to the country’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data, Bangladesh fetched 24,397.05 million U.S. dollars from exports in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.
The EPB data showed export performance for February was 3,072.15 million U.S. dollars, 1.39 percent higher than that in the same month a year ago.
RMG exports from Bangladesh grew by 8.68 percent to 20.26 billion U.S. dollars in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, it showed.
Bangladesh set its export target in 2017-18 fiscal year at 37.50 billion dollars, including 30.16 billion dollars from ready-made garment products. Enditem
