Bangladesh earns nearly 18 bln USD from exports in H1 of fiscal 2018-19
DHAKA, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) — Bangladesh’s total exports in the first half of the current 2018-19 fiscal year (July 2018-June 2019) reached nearly 18 billion U.S. dollars, up about 15 percent year on year, official data showed Tuesday.
According to the country’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data, Bangladesh fetched 17,916.02 million U.S. dollars from exports in six months of the current fiscal year.
The EPB data showed export performance for December was 3.43 billion U.S. dollars, 2.18 percent higher than that in the same month a year ago.
Bangladesh export income in the 2017-18 fiscal year (July 2017-June 2018) reached 36.67 billion U.S. dollars.
The country set its export target in 2018-19 fiscal year at 39. billion U.S. dollars, including 30.61 billion U.S. dollars from ready-made garment products. Enditem
