Bangladesh begins with 4-2 win against Sri Lanka in Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football
DHAKA, Jan. 8 (NsNewsWire) — Bangladesh won against Sri Lanka in the opening match of the eight-nation Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football tournament at the Shamsul Huda Stadium in Jessore on Friday night.
Bangladesh’s Sakhawat Hossain Rony scored two goals while Mohammad Nabib Newaj Jibon and Yeasin Khan scored one goal each for the hosts against the strong Sri Lanka.
Edison Figurado and Chaturanga Sanjeeva scored one goal each for Sri Lanka.
The hosts will play against defending champions Malaysia Tuesday in their second Group B tie.
