Bangladesh beats Zimbabwe by 87 runs in 1st ODI
DHAKA, Nov. 21 (NsNewsWire) — Riding on 101 runs from all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh set a fighting target of 281 runs in which Mushfiqur Rahim and Sabbir Ahmed contributed 65 runs and 44 runs respectively.
In response, Zimbabwe scored 194 runs losing all the 10 wickets in 42.1 overs.
The hosts clinched the 87-run victory over the visitors in the first of the five-match one day international or ODI cricket series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong here on Friday night.
T Panyangara took three wickets while TL Chatara grabbed two wickets.
Zimbabwe’s BRM Taylor scored highest 54 runs while H Masakadza made 42 runs.
Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan took four wickets while Mashrafe Mortaza, Arafat Sunny and Mahmudullah grabbed two wickets each to steer the visitors to victory over Zimbabwe.
The hosts had earlier completed 3-0 Test whitewash over the visitors.
