Airtel introduces innovative fuel station payment service

DHAKA, Dec. 22 (NsNewsWire) — Airtel Bangladesh Limited, one of the fastest growing mobile service providers of the country has launched a pioneering payment system through mobile phone service in Bangladesh. For the first time, Airtel’s Valued Customers can enjoy a cashless and card less solution for making payments at fuel stations in Dhaka.

Now, an Airtel Customer with a DBBL mobile account can pay from his/her mobile phone while refilling fuel for their vehicle without using any cash or card for the fuel. Airtel customers will not be charged any extra amount for the purchase through mobile phone. Upon purchase of fuel, the customer will receive a confirmation SMS. In order to avail the service, Airtel customers will have to dial *400#, select DBBL, input the biller ID, bill no., the amount in BDT of fuel purchase followed by a 4 digit PIN number in the payment option. This service will allow Airtel customers to purchase fuel even if the customer is not with the vehicle at the time of purchase.

Under this initiative Airtel Bangladesh Limited has tied up with “Royal Filling Station”, a prominent vehicle fuel station located in Mohakhali area of Dhaka to enable Airtel customers pay their fuel purchases from DBBL mobile account. From airtel Mr. Mir Sadik Faisal, Senior Manager Business Development ,Mr. Ruhullah Raihan Alhusain Senior Manager mcommerce operations AND Mr. Nayeem Anam, Head of Admin were present. From DBBL Mr. Md. Mesbahul Alam, FAVP, Mr. Zahid Mansur AVP and other senior officials were present.Representatives from the filling station were also present. This tie up is the first of many tie ups to come under this unique service from Airtel.
