Agreement signing between Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and Edison Group
DHAKA, Dec. 2 (NsNewsWire) — Symphony is going to establish another mobile assembling plant at Kaliakoir, Gazipur. Edison Group, parent company of Symphony, has been allocated 5.16 acres of land in the Hi-tech city by Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA).
Edison Group and BHTPA signed an agreement on Wednesday for finalizing the arrangement of setting up the mobile manufacturing and assembling plant.
The managing director of BHTPA, Secretary HosneAra Begum ndc and managing director of Edison Group, Mr. Zakaria Shahid, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Edison group inaugurated their first plant this year on September in SavarAshulia. The plant was set up on a 57,000 square foot space where it houses heavy machineries imported from Japan and Germany. Over 500 job opportunities were created when the company began its operations in October. During the inauguration, Edison group had informed their plans of exporting locally manufactured handsets to Africa and subsequently to the middle-east, once the demand in the domestic markets were fulfilled.
On Wednesday’s agreement signing ceremony, also present were Dr.KhandokerAzizul Islam, Director (Admin & Finance) of BHTPA, Major Abdul Maleque Miazee, psc, sigs (retd), Director and Head of Corporate Affairs of Edison Group and also other top officials of the two organizations. Press Release
