Bangladesh opposition calls 36-hour countrywide strike from Sunday morning
DHAKA, Jan. 24 (NsNewsWire) — Khaleda Zia’s 20-party alliance has called a 36-hour countrywide non-stop strike from Sunday morning amid its ongoing blockade campaign that entered 19th day.
Khaleda’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in a statement on Saturday made the announcement.
BNP and its allies are observing a nonstop blockade across the country since Jan. 6 morning demanding fresh elections under a non-party caretaker government system.
