Khaleda sued for terming AL as “a party of atheists”

DHAKA, Oct. 21 (NsNewsWire) –Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia was Tuesday sued for terming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) as “a party of atheists”.
AB Siddique, leader of a pro-AL organization, lodged the case with the Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in capital Dhaka on Tuesday morning.
The plaintiff in his complaint alleged that former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia on Oct. 14 said, “AL doesn’t believe in secularism but in atheism.”
AL is a “a party of atheists,” she was also quoted as saying in the program.
