6 killed in road crash in Cox’s Bazaar

Cox’s Bazaar, Nov. 14 (nsnewswire) — Six passengers were killed and 6 others wounded in a road crash Thursday morning  in the country’s southeastern Cox’s Bazaar district, police said.

Azad Mia, the district’s police chief,  told nsnewswire over mobile phone  that the accident occurred at 6 a.m.local time in a head on collision between two jeeps at Ukhia sub-district, killing five people on the spot.

Another passenger succumbed to his wounds on way to a local hospital, he said.

It is feared that the death toll might go up as conditions of some wounded persons were precarious.

The exact cause of the accident was not immediately known.
