Dhaka, Nov 29 (nsnewswire) — Mirzapur Ex-Cadets’ Association (MECA) on Friday celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Mirzapur Cadet College.
On the occasion, a day long programme was held. The programme was enlighten with the presence of the ex-cadets of this wonderfully brilliant college.
Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor of Bangladesh Bank and an ex-cadet of the college attended the programme as the chief guest, said a press release.
In his speech, Dr. Atiur said as an ex-cadet groomed by this college in my formative years, the teens, it is a great delight and privilege for me to be able to join you all in this grand reunion on the auspicious occasion.
Looking back, I can visualize with pride the steady annual succession of batches of cadets passing out with high performance in public examinations, moving on to higher education and then to eventual diverse civil or military careers; earning renown and honors at home and abroad with unstinting hard work, both for their own sake and in service of others in Good Samaritan spirit.
He said most of us (ex-cadets) have taken up leading positions in diverse fields, civil and military, academic and applied, aided greatly by the grooming up we got in this alma mater in our pursuit of excellence. I am sure that cadets now in the college are getting similar or even better grooming, unlocking and developing their creative and leadership potentials.
Let this grand reunion today be an occasion for renewing and recharging of our passionate pursuit of an ever better tomorrow for all in our society in terms of inclusive, equitable material well being, ethical enrichment, and environmental sustainability.
This would entail our taking up hands-on proactive leadership in pursuit of ever ascending heights of excellence in every diverse role in every diverse field that we are active in. Let our own passionate commitment and engagement be examples igniting similar commitment and engagement in our colleagues reporting directly to us, who in turn will likewise ignite passion and positive creative energy among those working under them. Cascading of this sequence throughout the organizations/enterprises we are working in will pool and align massive collective thrusts of creative energies and passions in our pursuit of ever better collective good.
This reunion will certainly renew and forge networking between ex-cadets like us and the past and present faculties of the college; I wonder if some enthusiasts are contemplating to come up with a social networking website for current and ex cadets and faculties of the college for day to day contact and interaction among us, he added.
I look forward to our Mirzapur Cadet College continuing to produce future leaders in diverse fields of our social and economic life on path of equitable, environmentally sustainable progress towards material prosperity with ethical enrichment, he further said.
END.
