4th Dreamliner joins Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ fleet
The 4th Dreamliner has joined Bangladesh’s national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines. A ceremony in the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in capital Dhaka marked the commissioning of the aircraft, reports Xinhua. Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 4th Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in the ceremony and said its induction to the Biman fleet would further enhance the national flag carrier’s capability to operate flights to more new destinations. Prime Minister Hasina reportedly chosen the names of four Dreamliners – Akash Beena, Hansa Balaka, Gangchil and Rajhangsha. The first Dreamliner had arrived in Dhaka in August last year while the second one in December. And the the third one reached Dhaka in July this year. Biman in 2008 reportedly signed a 2.1-billion-U.S. dollar agreement with Boeing to buy 10 new aircraft. Boeing had earlier delivered four 777-300ERs and two 737-800s. With the inclusion of the 4th Dreamliner, the number of aircraft of the national flag carrier of Bangladesh rose to 16. Enditem |
