Airtel hosted 3G workshop for telecom journalists
DHAKA, Dec. 18 (NsNewsWire)– A training workshop on 3G or third generation mobile technology was arranged Wednesday in collaboration with Airtel Bangladesh Limited for telecom journalists.
The Workshop was specially designed by the Airtel experts to disseminate more 3G and related information among the telecom journalists.
TRNB in collaboration with Airtel Bangladesh Limited arranged the training workshop styled “Prospect of 3G in Bangladesh” in a city hotel.
Shariar Rashed, head of planning, and Adnan Bin Taj, head of data, of Airtel presented two papers on various aspects of the cutting edge technology which enhances services such as multimedia, high speed mobile broadband, internet access with the ability to view video footage on mobile handset at a relatively lower rate.
According to the officials, 3G services could assist in minimizing the “digital divide” in Bangladesh, a country being poorly served by broadband Internet services.
Abdullah Al Mamun, president, and Sajal Zahid Islam, general Secretary, of TRNB and Shamit Shahabuddin, head of Airtel public relations, among others, spoke at the workshop.
TRNB or Telecom Reporters’ Network of Bangladesh is the organization that is operating as the network of journalists who specially focus on entire gamut of activities of the South Asian country’s booming telecom industry.
The focus of organization work is the enhancement of professionalism and journalist standards and the media freedom.
