17th AGM of Dhaka University Accounting Alumni held
DHAKA, July 27 (NsNewsWire) — Swadesh Ranjan Saha has been elected as President of Dhaka University Accounting Alumni Association (DUAAA) for the term 2018-20 while Mohammad Tofail Ahamed has been elected as the General Secretary for the term 2018-20. Ahmed Yousuf Abbas, Mohammad Moniruzzaman and Deawn Wasiqul Alam Milon have been elected as Vice Presidents of the organization. The immediate former President was Kamrul Islam, FCA. Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
The newly elected Executive Committee took over charge at the 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Dhaka University Accounting Alumni Association (DUAAA) held on 26 July, 2018 at the Dhaka Club.
Newly elected President of DUAAA Swadesh Ranjan Saha was born in a Kishoreganj. He was graduated and obtained Masters in Accounting from the University of Dhaka. He was the District Governor of Lions Club in 2015-16. At present he is the GMT Area Leader of Lions Club in charge of Bangladesh, India and Bhutan. He is the Vice Chairman of Satcom IT Ltd., Satcom Computer Ltd., Director of Alpha Credit Rating Company Ltd., Founder & Governing Body member of Dhaka Imperial College and Founder of Lions Club of Dhaka Imperial. He is also the member of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Lifetime member of Bangladesh lions Foundation and Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
The newly elected General Secretary Mohammad Tofail Ahamed was born in Dhaka. He was graduated and obtained his Masters from the University of Dhaka in Accounting. He is the Director of Global Securities Ltd. a prominent brokerage house of Dhaka Stock Exchange. He is a life-time member of Dhaka University Alumni Association and Dhaka University Accounting Alumni Association.
Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh was present in the AGM as the Chief Guest. He said our society is moving at a faster pace and to meet up demand of accounting professionals we need to give importance on their skill development. Our present economic activities are turning into cashless from traditional cash-based transaction system, so the academic module of Accounting needs to be updated, he said. He also underscored the importance of transparent and analytical financial reporting. We are now experiencing a knowledge-based economic transition. He emphasized on public and private sector dialogue among the accounting professionals.
